Sumdud and I already talked this over and this technically could be used....
Seeing how this thread is already filling up this quick (way to go guys)
How about we just post pictures that are NEW or RARE on the web?
Personal pictures taken by yourself from a Defense Expo or just when your in service can also be counted as rare... since it is your own and nobody else has it...
How about it?

learn from the master flanker!!![/QUOTE] i do believe you mean learn from Viktor Puachev. The creator of the maneuvor. The Pugachev cobra can be used in combat too, the flanker pilot can take a snap missile shot at an aircraft directly above him or even behind. Nice Move!;)

Oh, and one more thing:
No PS or CGI, real photos only!
And, it will be best that if you are posting only a product(not a photo of a practice or war), post only indigenous or custom built products for that country.
For example:
You can post an Al-Zarrar in an expo,
or a Leopard C1.
but not one of their T-84s in the garage, since it is Russian.
But you can post a T-84 firing.(Action is always welcomed.)

And here are my photos:

Its rather inefficient to transport gasoline like that(not to mention unsafe). Uranium? Liquid nitrogen? both too dangerous, although the russians wernt really the cautious kind.

Cosmonaut training capsule?

I don't know what that thing is but cosmonaut training capsule sounds good. An airpalne can go in a dive in some sort of manuver and create a short state of zero gravity in the cabin.

Here's a pic of a modified Boeing 747 giving the Space Shuttle a "piggy back" ride.

If you look really closely, both the (il-76?) rear tail fins and the 747 rear tail fins have been modified in a similar manner. They might serve similar missions. This il-76 may be operated by the RKA, the russian equivalent of NASA.

Thsi is why the USN USAF team is so great. They have perfected the art of in air refueling. An F-14 takes on fuel from a KC-135.

Persian Gulf (Nov. 9, 2005) - An F-14D Tomcat, assigned to the “Blacklions” of Fighter Squadron Two One Three (VF-213), conducts aerial refueling with a U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker during a mission over the Persian Gulf region. VF-213 is assigned to Carrier Air Wing Eight (CVW-8), currently embarked aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). U.S. Navy photo

USS Enterprise on fire 14 January 1969 off the coast of Hawaii. 28 sailors were killed. It took six weeks in Pearl Harbor's shipyard to repair the damage before the "Big E" went to the waters off Vietnam. Comissioned in 1961 The Enterprise is still in comission and is now preparing for another major deployment.

Here's a blurp on the accident:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Enterprise_(CVN-65)

14 January 1969: At approximately 8:19 am, a MK-32 Zuni rocket warhead attached to an F-4 Phantom was overheated by exhaust from an aircraft starting unit and detonated, setting off fires and additional explosions across the carrier. By the time the fire was finally brought under control 27 lives had been lost, and an additional 314 people had been injured. The fire had destroyed 15 aircraft, and the resulting damage forced Enterprise to put in for repairs.

The Zuni rocket only has a 20 kg warhead, but is usually carried in pods or multi-racks. So if one went boom, the rest goes boom along with the aircraft (ouch).

Prior to the CVAN-65 fire a similar type fire took the USS Forrestal CVA-59 out of action. The fire occuried 29 July 1967 off the coast of Vietnam. Forrestal was so severely damaged that it was forced to return to it's homeport of Norfolk VA for a major re-fit.

The 64th Aggressor Squadron based at Nellis AFB has since been reactivated and still operates F-16s and they will soon be joined by F-15 Aggressors--perhaps they will look similar to this:

http://www.features02.kitparade.com/images/f15djpds_title.jpg

...without Japanese marking of course.

As a side note, the 527th Aggressor Squadron, formerly based at Alconbury, England, then Bentwaters, England, has since been reactivated as the 527th Space Aggressor Squadron--taking it to the next level.

Sumdud, That an SH-60. It has only four rotor blades and four tail rotors. It just looks that way because the blades are moving so fast. As for the SM-3..I have no clue..I just know they go to a speical pier at a Naval weapons station to load them...More various pics later today.

I think Sumdud ment the pic where two guys haul a carriage full of bombs...in that picture there is a E-2 Hawkeye...but to my knowlidge and my sources states this also, it only have four-blade propellors???

Anyway that SM-3 pic is bit misleading as it is taken very close from the actual missile. Only small parts of it is exposed thus making it look like really fat and crumple.

That is an E2-C Hawkeye. I'm going to have to look that up. It certainly does appear to have more than 4 blades. Maybe there is a time laspe in the pic???

Yep, I remember after seeing the pics that during the pre-flight the crewmen spin the props to inspect them perhaps the pic was taken during this time.

USS Liberty after it was "mistakenly attacked" by Israeli gunboats during the "Six Day War in June 1967" 26 Americans killed 134 wounded.

Apparently the US navy was minutes away from nuking Cario. A immediate retalition strike against was ordered by the commander of a nearby task force but someone in Washington stopped the strike. I concede i have no firm source i saw it in a decumentary on the liberty attack over 5 years ago.

Yep the US had planes in the air from the USS America & another CVA ready to strike with conventional weapons (don't know about nukes) when it was discovered the atttackers were Israeli then Pres Johnson called off the strike. Pres Johnson then reportly said..I paraphrase.."" I don't care how many men are killed I don't want to embarrass our ally Israel"..I think that is why to this day and forever no USN ship is named after Pres Johnson.

Tomb Guard Pfc. Michael Steiner marches 21 steps down the black mat behind the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery, Va. Twenty-one steps was chosen because it symbolizes the highest military honor that can be bestowed, the 21-gun salute. The Tomb of the Unknowns is guarded 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and in any weather by Tomb Guard sentinels. The sentinels, all volunteers, are considered to be the best of the 3rd U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard), headquartered at Fort Myer, Va

Yeah its a good thing in my opinion that tech trasfers as smoothly as it does between the US and EU(keeps both our territories the world leader in military tech). The boeing x-45 and lockheeds darkstar looks promising.
Both those companies are building alot of differant types of UAV. I also read where the US and UK were doing a joint UAV project call the church hill. One of my CO's in the air force told me awhile back that the global hawk was already in testing to fire air to air missiles and would be fitted in the near future with raetheon AMRAAMS,FRAAM(ramjet missile),or the meteor which boeing is bringing to the US market from the EU.The Global hawk flies really high so an air-to-air long range engagment is feasible. We'll see if they can pull it off.

Imangine how toxic that water is. If a pregnant woman drank from that she would have a baby with two heads....Yuck!

Look at that mess. And some nations want to buy military hardware from them. ...I saw a show on the Discovery Channel some years ago about how the Russian Navy was in a state of disrepair. Along with very bad morale. That base shown is a toxic waste dump. Dispicable.

Come on Popeye you can't denounce a scrapyard or Russia, I mean it's a scrapyard... it's meant to be dirty, I'm pretty sure if you saw the NYC landfill or even some car scrapyard in the US it would be the same

Maybe.:o I think most of the ship scrapyards in the US are closed because of enviromental concerns...So most USN ships are sunk as reefs....

So sorry for my insults...:( But those yards do look really toxic.

Darth I posted something about that in the old forum...But here I go again..

http://www.pulitzer.org/year/1998/investigative-reporting/works/day2/1.html

This above link is about the sorry ass way the USN & shipbreakers handled the scrapping of the Coral Sea. Excellent article.

The scrapping of the Coarl Sea took seven friggin' years. It was a disaster. the USN never did properly prepare the ship to be scrapped. All sorts of enviroment concerns arose. a couple of shipwreckers went bankrupt. This is the reason the USN may never scrap another ship. What a disaster.
Here's the link and text..

http://www.hazegray.org/navhist/carriers/coralsea/

The Scrapping
Placed out of commission and struck from the Naval Vessels Register on 30 April 1991 after 44 years of service, Coral Sea was sold to N.R. Vessel Corp. of New York City on 30 March 1993, for scrapping. The scrapping was subcontracted to Seawitch Salvage of Baltimore. In service Coral Sea had recorded more arrested landings than any ship other than the training carrier USS Lexington, and after retirement she would set another record: the largest warship ever scrapped. Her vast size, and the fact that Seawolf had never attempted a project on this scale, would cause problems down the road.
During 1994 the scrapping work shifted to the aft section of the ship. All sections of the flight deck aft of the forward hangar bulkhead were removed and sections of the hangar walls were cut up. The island was demolished in June, 1994. The hulk moored beside Coral Sea is that of a vessel named Seawitch, the first project Seawitch Salvage undertook, and the source of the company's name.

Environmental issues, and problems encountered during the scrapping operation, put a stop to scrapping work in August 1994. At this stage everything above the hangar floor, except the forward flight deck and some hangar walls, had been removed. Piles of debris littered the ship.

Late in 1995 the ship's owners announced the hulk would be sold for scrapping in China. The hulk was cleaned out and made ready for the tow vbefore the Navy blocked the sale in the courts. Scrapping work resumed in March 1996, only to stop again in August, when Seawitch was indicted on criminal charges related to the scrapping. Fires broke out aboard the hulk in November 1996 and May 1997. Scrapping work had resumed by mid-1997, and proceeded at a slow pace. The lower portions of the hulk still remained in 1999, and scrapping was finally completed in August 2000.

Huh??

The USN did adopt hurricane bows(enclosed)and
armoured on the Midway class. The hurricane bow
came after a major re-fit in the late 50's.
The Midways were built with armoured flight decks
as have been all subsequence USN CV's.

The armoured flight deck was a British design.

The Essex/Ticonderoga class was built with a
wooden flight deck because of the numbers
built(cost cutting)during WW 2. The teal wood
was laid over sleel plating.

I served on one Essex/Ticonderoga Class the USS Hancock CV-19.

Some ships of the Essex/Tico class were never modified
Check out their uses.

USS Boxer (LPH-4) ex-CVA-21 At Mayport, Florida, in August 1965, just prior to departing for Vietnam with elements of the Army's First Cavalry Division on board. She carried 1200 personnel, 205 helicopters and 6 OV-1 airplanes to the combat zone. Aircraft on her flight deck include 6 OV-1 (dark colored-forward); 4 CH-54 (white-just forward of island); 56 CH-47 (dark colored-amidships and aft) and 36 UH-1 (white-amidships and forward). The remaining 109 helicopters are presumably stowed on Boxer's hangar deck

USS Valley Forge (LPH-8) ex-CV-45 transfomed into an LPH. Underway in the Pacific Ocean, circa 1962-63, prior to her "FRAM II" overhaul. She has fifteen UH-34 helicopters spotted in take-off positions on her flight deck.
Photo was received by "All Hands" magazine on 22 July 1963.

a wooden flight deck is not a good idea espescialy considering some of the
more sucidial weapon the japanese came up with in the late war years
that probely prevent them from handling the phantom although the size of the F-4 must have also contirbuated to thaat
