While surfing the net, I found this page:http://www.combat.spb.ru/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=thumbnails&album=6&page=5&sort= (IDEX 2005 pictures page 5). The Jino Motors APC is identical to the XinXiang 2002. I searched for "Jino Motors" and came up with this: http://www.army-technology.com/contractors/vehicles/jino-motors/jino-motors2.html
It seems that either the PAP has adopted a foreign-made APC (South Korea) or that this South Korean company makes the XinXiang under license :nono: . Can anyone clarify?????:confused:

could the xingxiuang be a liscence production of the jino motors vehicle? i dont see why the pap wants to liscence the vehicle, since its only needed in small numbers, and thye can simply be ordered from south korea.

perhaps jino motor sought to find a chinese firm to produce the vehicle to lower the costs, and part of the contract gave the firm the right to produce the vehicle for the pap/pla aswell.

it's not XinXiang, it is "XinXing"!

Xin = New
Xing = Star

It is built by a private company in Shaanxi Province. The vehicle is based on the chassis of NJ2046 (http://www.sinodefence.com/army/transport/nj2046.asp). This vehicle marks a new era, not because of its outstanding performance (well, it is OK, but far from perfect), but because it is the first military equipment for the PLA developed by a civilian private company. Before this, the development and production of any military equipment were strictly limited to state-owned companies.

Thanks for the clarification Dongfeng!:)

"Type X "? what do u mean ?

"X" or "A" stands for the -unknown- type number, e.g. "type 59 main battle tank" I should have put "Type????".
