hey guys, plz help indentify that vehicle...can't seem to find it in da Sino site...

Anyhow I really believe that sort of light APC is what the US needs right now in Iraq, as opposed to the masses of armoured Hummvees used in patrols. The Hummer's chasis, however pumped up with armour, is just not designed to deflect damage from roadside bombs and IEDs.

All 125 members of the PAP team underwent 3 months of intensive training in China before their departure. The members were trained in language and peace-keeping skills and briefed on the local political situation in Haiti.

the commander of the PAP contigent with commanders from other participating nations

This particular mission has rufled a lot of feathers because its the Chinese military's first ever deployment in the Western Hemisphere, and also because Haiti is one of the few contries left in the wolrd who recognises Taiwan diplomatically, not China...

I think its a smart move by the PLA, this gives them great exposure to a foreign conflict environment, and give them a few brownie points within the UN as well. IMHO China definately needs to participate more within the UN framework, especially since the US seems quite happy to ignore the international body and persue its own goals.

This gives China a great chance to work closer with other nations both diplomatically and militarily in the UN. Over a period of time, this could potentially lead to China being more influential on global issues. What do you gentlemen think?

Those APCs are XinXing 2002 APCs, or New Star 2002. I think they are only used by the PAP.

The reason this of APCs wasn't being use in Iraq was because they are light vehicles and can easily get blown up. So instead they used the bigger, heavy, more armored humvee vehicle for patrol.:china:

And I say HAHAHAHAHA at both of you,

none of the both, APC and Humvee are well armored, the US M2/M3 Bradley have an armor that can only resist to 12.7mm caliber MG and the LAV-25/Stryker series can only block 7.62mm, most armored vehicule in the world have an armor that have similar performance... The armored Humvee can also resist to 7.62mm, but still, it was not design to patrol in a hot zone... But, don't underestimate those light vehicule like Humvee, this can protect the crew pretty well too. Humvee have similar armor to a Canadian G-Wagen....

This is a G-Wagen that rolled on a mine in Afghanistan, none of the passenger were killed, so the Humvee can do the same, only, when IED can destroy a Abrams, can a Humvee stand against ????

The APC used by the Chinese PAP in Haiti is sufficient for peaceking, but really not adapted for heavy combat zone...

In "Red Alert" the only difference between APC and humvee is that APC is bigger and take in more people. Both are good suited for attacking infantry but bad at fighting tanks and artillaries. So i guess you are right:china:
