Isn't WS-10a supposed to have TVC? Will it be 3D TVC nozzle? I thought this engine was certified or at least close to it. Are you guys saying they that this is not going to be primary consideration for J-10 and WS-13 will be the next primary consideration? From what I understood, J-10 was going to use WS-10 due to better performance in relation to AL-31.

Supposedly AVEN nozzle project is trying to achieve that. A 2d nozzle was shown in an air exhibition in China.

The engine has been certified if i recall correctly and has eneterd limited production levels. Apparently as for now it will be used on J-11B. We can reasonably assume that it is being(or has already been) modified for use on J-10. Due to the low production levels it cannot fulfill the requirement of J-10 and J-11B at the same time as of now. Once full production level comes along and modification for fitting it on J-10 has been completed it will be used on J-10.

Ws-10 was supposed to match or surpass the thrust on earlier versions of AL-31 that were bought for J-10. BUt i guess the latest ones AL-31Fn(??) are probably better than WS-10 in thurst and performance.

WS-13 is for Fc-1/JF-17.

If it was, JF-17 would not be facing engine problems.
Your thinking of the WP-13, the wopen engine that is desinged for the j-7G. The WS-13 is something different

No they're Kunlun (WP-14). Kunlun-II in fact. When the Kunlun was first finished, news of that was never released to the media. But when the Kunlun II was finally finished, the media finally reported it. They're meant for the J-8II or J-7.

How do you tell bro? are there any special things in WS-10 (and other engines) that could be used to tell one from the other??

Re: Ws10a

For any particular reason?

These kunlun engine pics were from Zhuhai 2004 btw. They're not new pics. The gearboxes on the bottom are identical to those used for the WP-13s, intended to work on the same planes (J-8II, J-7). If you wish, you can compare the pictures with the WP-13 and check the gearboxes in particular.

Re: Ws10a

oh I know that. I was just wondering if what you do on forums relates to what you do in real life, just like Kramer. Will, in his case, did.

OK guys, please cut the chit-chat; you can do that with PM or start a thread like what Golly and Sam did.

Crobato do you think these are Chinese engines?

Re: Ws10a

I am not sure about the last three. The first two look like gas turbines used for electrical power generation. There is such a turbine for that purpose based on the WS-10. The third picture could be WP-7, WP-13 or R-11 Turmansky but I'm not that sure.

This is talking about the development of the Thrust Vectoring control?

It says the factory has the first domestic large size add temperature, add pressure testbed for fighter engines, the first domestic tstbed for thrust vectoring controller (any idea what the 6 in 6分力 is talking about, guys?)

I'm guessing this is the run about before WS-10B can be certified. Now, the testing for TVC can get started.
