Flights diverted, delayed as UFO detected*hovering
1) The appearance of the UFO caused delays of commercial flights in Zhejiang
2) Authorities have learned the identity of the UFO after an investigation(I suppose it's not "unidentified" anymore)
3) A public explanation will not be given now, due to military connections, but it will be given on Friday(I suppose today?)

One that wanted to make sure that it would be seen and reported worldwide, and thus presumably recognised for what it was by those in the know, but without the CCP having to make any official announcement.
I am open to good ideas, but the first thing that springs to mind are the viral rumours of a live DF21D test.

The first picture looks nothing more than a civilian airliner. Probably just public paranoia.
p.s. I may be eating my words when the E.T.s launch a massive offensive against us in 2012 lol ;D.
This is the picture that caught my attention. It was featured in the early versions of the story on China and Peoples Daily, but was withdrawn and replaced with the current second picture.
To me it is unmistakably a rocket. I know some people have pointed out the dark plane like shape, but to draw conclusions from a single long distance digital picture could be foolish. It could be an effect of shadow or paint job or any other kind of optical effect. You will notice that the exhaust plumes originate from a much larger area than the dark shape, which simply suggests that the background colour of the object is simply not visible in that kind of light. Its not an unusual phenomena.

Here's a supposed video and another picture(in the article) of the incident:

Experts, help us out a bit, what does it look like? A rocket? Space debris? Hoax? The incident is probably not hoax, but the video and article I just posted can still be.
EDIT: Seems like the vid is from a 6/30 missile? too many different reports out there right now!

Also, there is the possibility that it could be non-Chinese. The exercises make awfully tempting peeking material.
Do you really believe that anything unfriendly could penetrate so far inland in such a critical and important area? I don't.

If it is more than 30 some kilometers up and moving fast, why not?
I think these are two different things. There is a video on the internet shot in Hangzhou, which shows the same object as the photo with the circle. That video clearly shows the object is an aircraft. In fact, in the video there are two aircrafts going in opposite directions and you can hear the engines going overhead of the cameraman. The reason why it looks like a rocket is because that's how engine trails look reflecting sunset. And in a photo you can't see how fast or slow it actually is moving. One of the aircrafts in the video is not too high and you can see the trail is actually from two engines some space apart. Most likely, it is an H-6 series.
Given the timing, it could very well be the long-awaited H-6K, with new engines. The deliberate appearance suggests that H-6K is now in service.
The other photo, to me at least, looks like shot-down aircraft debris, somewhat distorted by camera artifacts. It could also be a whole aircraft, seriously distorted by camera artifacts.

The object shown in dingyibvs video is clearly a multi stage Rocket. At 30 seconds you can see a new stage kick in.
So we have a Rocket with a minimum of two stages, which rather makes me think yet again of a DF21D test.

dingyibvs first video was intended to be a joke, as I understand.
