challenge

there's been report of PLAN development of carrier based AWACS,similiar to E-2C.some suggest PLAN may adapt Yakolev design original destined for Soviet CV.other suggest scale down version of KJ-200.
any more info regarding this subject.

Been talked about for a long time, even with the pics of the old Russian mockup. But I have not seen anything definitive in all that time. Just rumors and articles that talk in general about the Chinese developing carrier capability.

One thing is for sure, the day that there is something actually definitive regarding this is the day we know a WHOLE lot more about the future indigenous PLAN carrier itself...because this type of aircraft will not be launched from a ski-jump.
