in what way? It's not been used anywhere, looks more like a demonstration cockpit than anything else.

Its some new cockpit alright, but it does not necessarily be the J-10's. That simulator on the background seems to be that of the J-11B. I think this lab tests all sorts of cockpits for different aircraft. The cockpit seems to belong to a much larger aircraft, one that has two pilots seating side by side. My guess is that it can be anything from a new jetliner to an H-6 variant.

Just talks about as part of the 973 project, they are developing stealthy composite materials for J-10 and Z-10. Also talks about the advancement in other composite material development.

I think the stealthy J-10 is actually the aircraft in the "cockpit display photo" in sinodefence's J-XX page. It look similar to J-10, but double V tail fins and also has external carriage of weapons.

It's good to see they are finally giving more information about this project. It shows that the project has progressed along quite far. Reports from last year state that it made initial flight in 2007.

This news is slightly contradictory to the news before about J-10 not going through a "major modification." The news stated that the "major modification" has been canceled in favor of focusing on J-XX.

I guess a J-10 with RAM, double V fins, TVC and AESA is not a "major modification"

But if J-10 is going to modified to this extent, it means that J-XX is going to look nothing like J-10. It will be a totally different, probably very exotic creature.

just talks about in 2007, AVIC 1 had 5 planes getting certified, 2 planes having initial fight and 4 plane projects getting started. After J-10 winning the only top award in 2006, 2007 had many one place award from AVIC1.

AVIC 1 produced a 3rd gen fighter, 3rd gen turbofan engine and a 4th gen AAM. I'm thinking the 4th gen AAM is the new SRAAM.

　　紅土高原的夜，深沉而靜謐，輕柔的月光穿透烏雲的縫隙斑駁地播撒在機場的跑道上。

　　探照燈的光，刹那間劃破了夜幕，防空警報更是讓靜寂蕩然無存。大地抖動起來，緊張的脚步聲、車輛的轟鳴 聲、短促而有力的口令聲交織在一起，奏響了成空航空兵某師實戰背景下應急作戰機動演練的開篇序 曲。

　　動員，沒有太多的話語：今夜，檢驗我們的忠誠和力量！

　　機棚前，各種保障車輛快速而有序地穿梭忙碌著，彈藥在戰機前一字排開，銀灰色的彈面在燈光的照射下泛出 幽幽的冷光。“准備加挂！”對講機中傳出副大隊長方明簡潔的口令。“准備好！”回應此起彼伏。“開始！”一 聲令下，所有的機組幾乎是同一個動作。拖彈入位，“好！”准備挂彈，“好！”起！機務人員的應答聲像是有力 的沖擊波，激蕩著機棚中的空氣，一枚枚導彈、炸彈頃刻間躍上了挂架，驕傲地昂起了它們的頭。二十餘分鐘後， 戰機的充、填、加、挂等出動准備工作全部完成，信號員堅定地舉起了手中的旗，爲披挂整齊的戰鷹 送行。

　　改裝任務重，意義大，飛行員們一刻不敢懈怠，他們一邊學理論，一邊搞科研，一邊謀戰法，在短短幾年的時 間里就完成了由二代機飛行員向三代機戰鬥員的轉變，整建制形成了戰鬥力。爲了加快戰鬥力成長的步伐，他們先 後編寫各種資料43本，累積飛行經驗資料30餘萬字，開發《飛參智能監控系統》等飛行輔助軟件20餘個，訓 練質量和訓練效益得到大幅提高。同時，他們還針對任務特點，狠抓了對抗訓練。從單機間的對抗到多機間的對抗 ，從單機種對抗到與其他三代機種對抗，從本場空域內的對抗到長途奔襲後的對抗，從簡單條件下的對抗到實戰背 景下複雜電磁環境中的對抗，他們在對抗中謀生存，在對抗中求發展，摸索出了一條在不斷地對抗中提升戰鬥力的 路子。

by the looks of it , the jets that are covered seems to be FC-1, and the far right jet has smth sticking out of cover, could it be IFR on FC-1?

In the last pic, the bubble canopy looks great too!!

No, these are surely older J-7 as You can notice by the upwards-hinged pitot, the airbrake below the fuselage, etc.

Sorry to drag your hopes down but they aint FC-1, they moreso have siloute of J-7. Im sure the PLAAF are wiser enough to have better hangers for their J-10's if not im shocked....At least those hangers should have doors, meaning they wont get damaged by flying debris in massive storms.

As for the J-10B CG posted above, realistically the aircraft would be carrying more fuel tanks in combat missions.
