2003 was built in the same batch as 2002. It will come out in a few months.

I hope 2004 prototype will have the WS-15 debut with stealthy nozzle. Something like FC-1 with prototype04 having a major restruture to perfect it.

Deino has a pretty good record. I think the final count was around 63? There is also a thread on CJDBY that kept a pretty good record of every single flight so far.

Andreas says he lost the count like me...
68th flight was on February 10 according to my write-ups
can you kindly provide a link to thread at CJDBY? Thanks in advance!

Well I just finished watching this on the SyFy Channel. The pics are pretty much all you see of the J-20. Basically the story is aliens were trying to start WWIII by making it look like North Koreans and Chinese were attacking US warships. Funny thing was J-20s were flying across the Pacific to nuke the US. They couldn't even keep up with continuity. First you saw a graphic showing J-20s were approaching the West coast of the US. Then later when the climatic battle takes place, the heroes spot the J-20 "bombers" flying overhead heading for the US. Problem was they were off North Korea.

Ironic thing was the illogic of everything was very similar to the movie Battleship which this movie is trying exploit. In both movies even though these were aliens who had the technology to get to Earth, their military capabilities were on par with the US.
LOL...gotta love those B-movies cheesy dialogues and plots! But I gotta give it to ya, the CG on B-Movies had improve a lot since the late 1980s.

if I'm not mistaken, March 20 flight was marked as 15th flight in 2012 so it's kinda 77th for 2001 (62 flights in 2011)

    Flateric.

Apologies but the thread I was talking about only covered the number of flights up till september 2011... The good news is that it links to all the threads wall climbers started regarding the earlier flights.

However I baidu-ed the number of flights and it is at least 70 for 2001. I think I need to start a thread on CJDBY to get a more precise count from wall climbers.

Thank you gentlemen, a fine post for both of you young men and entirely logical, now I would caution that 2002 is only the second prototype, and they will likely fully vet her at the factory, they may have also made some additions to the equipment list and will be confirming that all is functional. The best place for test flying/initial airworthiness remains the factory airfield, I will not be surprised then when 2003 rolls out. It is a shame the we didn't see a little formation flying, but that would likely be too risky at this stage!

Hi flateric, this is off topic, but do you have a link or any insight into the center fuse issues with the T-50, also some said the verts were cracking? I would imagine they have progressed to a more energetic flight test regimen and its always possible for these things to crop up once flight testing gets serious as with the F-35?

Which is why I said at least 70 lol. I knew that there were around 70 flights in March but it seems that people stopped keep tracking of 2001 flights when 2002 came out.

Already posted the thread. Waiting for response:

Some one said around 80 flights. Will update when I get a more precise number.

On the basis of performance where does the J-20 stand against the US F-22 Raptor? I hear that the Raptor is far superior to the J-20, is that true?

Chinese J-20 and Russian T-50 are just prototypes. They are far from operations. Only after that one could say which is better.

    Cheers
