I, too, believe more on the theory that certain cities, counties etc have a relatively taller population rather than the theory of "north and south" as often reported by western media.

The diagram says J-20 is about 2 ton lighter than F-22. That would mean the J-20 has more than 10% less wing loading than the F-22! That would mean, with a powerful enough engine, J-20 should be more maneuverable than the F-22. That's assuming the calculated weight of the aircrafts are correct.

you maybe right ... remember F-22 is like 25-30 years old designed, while J-20 is really brand new design ... imagine computational power in 1980s compared to now .... perhaps in the magnitude of 10,000 at least ?

Like comparing my first computer of Apple II+ in 1984 with 48KB RAM and 1 MHz CPU .... to my current computer Intel core i7 with 12GB RAM and 3.2 GHz Quad core 8 HT

I would not get too excited about any wing loading calculations just yet, as there is not way anyone who knows the J20's actual weight would be allowed to disclose that, so the weight numbers are almost certainly a complete guess at best.

What more, even if we knew the precise weight of the J20 prototype, it still will not tell us what the production model will be like. Significant changes could be made between now and when it becomes operational, especially since they plan to use a new engine for the operational birds.

    What's 8HT?

I bought my computer in '08 and I was using E8400@3GHZ, 4GB DDR2, and 8800GTS 320 OC that time. Now it seemed totally outta place compared with 2011 PC tech lol.

I'm a military plane model enthusiast, but I'd rather wait until they make the model of the J-20 version that has been finalized and prepp'd for operational status first than to get the current model depicting the prototype, as the one right now isn't the finalized version and doesn't have the TVC or any other changes they might include later on in the final version.

A lot of things are not heavily dependant on computers but experiences instead. Metallurgy is definitely one of them, including mechanics and composite materials, structural design and engine designs. Having said that, China is still yet to design a modern bomber that is up to date, instead of constantly revising a WWII Tu-16.

Re: J-20... The New Generation Fighter II

How much weapon can the F22 carry in its weapon bay? Although I'm thinking the J20 could possibly not have a weapon bay, due to the fact how small it is when looking at it from underneath. But I still really think it does have one, unless those designers are really messed up in the head to design such stealthy plane with intention of mounting all its weapons outside the body. This would be the same as F1 car designed as heavy as a tank; although very powerful, it won't go anywhere because of the weight. The same idea applies here, unless it has a weapons bay, there's no point in making the body stealthy.

Agree, but computer is a huge part of all fields development

TU-16 had never been used in WWII, first flown in 1952 ... don't get me wrong TU-16 is outdated bomber, but it does the job for China ... and the latest Chinese H-6 is totally different bomber, reasonably modern .... plase tell me which countries in Asia have a better bomber plane ?

But bomber is obsolete anyway, the role has been replaced with cruise missile, SRBM, IRBM and ICBM

Not when you consider the cost of those missiles Vs bombs.

How much weapon can the F22 carry in its weapon bay?
    Here's the layout.
