IL-76 Medium-Range Transport Aircraft - Air Force Technology

yes, 200ton is maximum take-off, IL-76 MTOW is 170ton, some model is 190ton, so they are no much defference, D30kp engine fits this new plane.

C-17 Globemaster III - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A note, the large transport's weight will probably not be exactly 200tons, could be a bit lower or a bit higher. But I think the payload will be around 60 tons. Ish.

so when they are talkin about making publicity, are they talkin about the maiden flight? or is the testing stage already underway, its confusing cuz if the aircraft already started test flights there should have been some rumours about it.

from my view, that means at the end of this year, the first aircraft prototype assembly completed,and off the line,showing in XAC.

中国一航第一飞机设计研究院设计的大型军用运输机Y-20采用常规布局,机翼为悬臂式上单翼,前缘后掠角24°,无翼梢小翼。悬臂式T形尾翼。垂直安定面与机身 连接处向前伸有小背鳍,嵌入式方向舵分为上、下两段,升降舵分为两段。液压可收放前三点式起落架,可靠重力 应急自由放下。前起落架为双轮,主起落架为6轮。前起落架向前收入机身,主起落架旋转90°向里收入机身两 侧整流罩内。该机为大展弦比超临界翼型,采用包括前缘缝翼及外吹式襟翼系统等增升装置。

My expectation is that the High-bypass WS-10a variant will put out at least 32000 lb thrust, which is the output of the PS-90 on the Il-76MF. That is the minimum necessary thrust to match the Il-76MF and C-17 in overall performance.

Shouldn't the payload be more than a little over 60 tons? Like 60 to 65? Or even 70, on a very good day?

I find this whole situation rather odd. I can't think of any time that China announced the completion of a new weapon and plan to put it on a public showing. Especially before any photos of it have come out.

Is this from a reliable source?

And also, I find 60 tons to be enough for China's heavy transport needs. The Il-76 they have can only carry 47 tons. Besides, I'm sure that future variants will have expanded cargo capacity, but right now I think that China is more interested in being able to produce a heavy transport in good numbers and of good performance rather than wanting to wait for an extremely good performance plane.

MTOW for C-17A is 265 ton,while new IL-76 variant the IL-76MF is 210 ton.
at 200ton the cargo aircraft is roughfly same (or near) Il-76MF

maybe this whole thing is a scam to get the russians to agree on the il-76/78 deal that they have been stalling
