    Danke!

The photo is what I expected,
it is a partial rehash of a design they came up in 90s, ("model 93"?).
Not the tri-plane design they put in for the 5th Gen Fighter competition.

601 don't have any thing new.

The intake should be caret. and they have conventional lay out horizontal elevator,

think a downsized F-22 with leading edge root extensions.

    or a re-stealthrized Super Hornet.

    Self funded by AVIC,

trying to PLAAF to buy it but they ain't biting.

try to convince PLAN as a J-15 replacement. not biting yet.

PLAAF is going for a J-20/J-10X solution.

Although Pupu is pretty trustworthy let's wait a while first. The JH-7B incident is still fresh on my mind.

remember that picture with two windtunnel models side by side and a bunch of chinese guys were looking at it?
early version of J-20's head was sticking out?

this was a rehash of the one that was on the right beside the J-20..

These were posted over at FY. Not sure but I think I've seen the model before. The artist's rendition has been around.

I believe the model is a wind tunnel model of the ATD-X

You know what if SAC develops an ATD-X type aircraft before the japanese?

Well the ATD-X is a tech demonstrator, not the prototype for a real fighter. And it's small too, around the size of an F-35 if not smaller I believe.
SAC's "J-16" is a real fighter and it's size ranges anywhere from J-20 ish to larger than J-20. wait and see.

ATD-X demonstrator is a lot lighter and smaller than the F-35. Not even enough space on it for weapons bay.

Sorry I mean general layout not its size. If they have a stealthy flanker it might just end up looking very similar.

Well if it was a stealthy flanker it would look more like the PAK FA I imagine.
But apparently this is a brand new airplane by SAC (I know!) and it resembles more the F-22 than anything (which the ATD-X in turn resembles too). We'll see

Judging from what the big shrimps have been talking about the plane might look like a PAK-FA with conventional vertical stabilizers and no "gap" between the two engines.
